Company’s ZoneDefense and ZoneAware platforms can now detect and monitor Bluetooth devices as well as cellular and WiFi
PALO ALTO, Calif. – Big data analytics and solutions provider Sysorex (NASDAQ: SYRX) today announced that it has added the ability to detect and locate Bluetooth wireless devices as well as Cellular and WiFi support to its AirPatrol ZoneDefense and AirPatrol ZoneAware platforms. Bluetooth, a wireless technology used for exchanging data over short distances, is embedded in billions of devices including mobile phones, smart watches, cameras, headsets and automobiles. The AirPatrol platforms are used to precisely detect and locate mobile devices in buildings and enclosed areas. AirPatrol ZoneDefense is an asset tracking and mobile security platform that detects mobile devices and triggers appropriate security policies as the devices enter or exit sensitive areas. AirPatrol ZoneAware is a commercial locationing platform used for foot traffic analytics and location-based marketing.
“Bluetooth device detection and proximity locationing is a significant addition to our AirPatrol products,” said Sysorex Chief Technology Officer Craig Harper. “Bluetooth is undoubtedly the most widely adopted wireless technology in use today and is built-in to everything from headsets and printers to vehicles and equipment. There’s probably two or three Bluetooth-enabled devices for every person in a typical office building,” he said. “And all of these devices are broadcasting, exchanging data with each other unbeknownst to the people around them. With the AirPatrol platforms, we’ll be able to detect, locate and even interact with nearly every wireless thing – cellular, WiFi and Bluetooth within a monitored area – for the first time.”
The new AirPatrol systems detect transmissions from and proximate the location of mobile devices using any version of the Bluetooth wireless protocols. Devices include mobile phones, headsets, wireless speakers/audio systems, PCs and PC input/output devices, personal health and fitness devices, smart watches, beacons, sensors, medical devices, automobiles and many more. Bluetooth transmissions detected include pairing and/or setup of Bluetooth connections, data transfers and control and commands being sent.
The Bluetooth-capable versions of AirPatrol ZoneDefense and AirPatrol ZoneAware will be available beginning October 1, 2015.
