PALO ALTO, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–In a strategic alliance, Sysorex (NASDAQ:SYRX) subsidiary AirPatrol Corporation, a developer of mobile device detection and locationing systems, and Cubeware GmbH, a leading provider of business intelligence and analytics software in Europe, today announced that they are offering an integrated next generation big data analytics platform focused on gaining business insights based on where, how and when people use mobile devices.
AirPatrol develops a system that uses small sensors to detect and locate cellular and WiFi devices based on the signals they emit. The system can anonymously count customers, measure foot traffic flow, monitor how long people stay and how often they return. It can also trigger actions such as sending an alert, coupon or information via phone-based apps when the device moves into a “hot zone.” AirPatrol’s systems are used in a broad variety of settings from shopping malls and event venues to public buildings, hospitals and universities.
“More people use a personal mobile phone than a personal computer and, unlike a personal computer, people carry their phone just about everywhere they go,” said Sysorex’s Chief Marketing Officer, Sage Osterfeld. “More importantly, how people use their phones – for business, socializing, shopping, information gathering, entertainment, etc. — has a lot to do with where they are and why they are there. If we can analyze this information and turn it into insights, we can use it to improve everything from shopping experiences and sporting events to public safety and healthcare delivery,” he said.
With the Cubeware Solutions Platform C8, Cubeware offers an interactive, integrated and easy-to-use business intelligence platform that addresses all aspects of modern business intelligence projects – from data management, data modeling, data governance and data distribution to data visualization. In combination with the data generated by AirPatrol’s mobile sensor system, an application collects and analyzes data from various information systems such as customer management, point-of-sale, accounting and business operations, and generates reports and live “dashboards” used for everything from measuring overall business performance to deciding how many items to ship to a particular store. Cubeware’s customer portfolio boasts some of the most prominent brands in the business world including Siemens, Volkswagen, Bertelsmann and Fuji.
“Mobile location data has been a missing component in the business intelligence and analytics world,” said Cubeware’s Business Development Manager, Anibal Fuentes Perez. “The integration of AirPatrol’s mobile location information into the Cubeware Solutions Platform C8 gives us, not only, the ability to understand how people move through buildings, how long they stay and how often they return, but also allows us to combine that information with line-of-business applications like inventory, sales, customer support, accounting, admissions, and so on to get a view of operations with a scope and detail that just wasn’t possible before,” he said.
The AirPatrol/Cubeware alliance is focused on delivering mobile location analytics for the retail, commercial real estate and property management, resort and hospitality, public events and theme parks industries. New offerings for additional markets are expected early in 2015.
Cubeware provides business intelligence (BI) and analytics software as well as services that provide executives and employees with relevant valuable insights into their business and markets, enabling them to quickly identify patterns, seize opportunities, and predict potential problems and solutions. With the Cubeware Solutions Platform C8 companies get a reliable BI platform that addresses the unique needs of different teams throughout the whole company – all on a single platform without system breaks or application gaps. In addition to being easy to use and administer, C8 is also flexible enough to adapt to ever-changing business and IT requirements.
