ATLANTA–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Inpixon Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Inpixon Global Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ:SYRX), announces its live demonstration of Inpixon’s ZoneDefense for AirWatch® by VMware at AirWatch Connect™ Atlanta 2014 booth 408, taking place Sept. 8-11.
ZoneDefense allows organizations using AirWatch Enterprise Mobility Management to automatically switch security policies of smartphones and tablets based on the device owner and location. ZoneDefense for AirWatch creates “hot zones” that can change the features, apps and content available on an AirWatch-managed device when it enters the area. The hot zones can be as large as an entire building or as small as an office cubicle.
“As smart devices incorporate more advanced technology, we believe the concept of context-aware devices is becoming more prominent for individuals and businesses,” said Cleve Adams, CEO, Inpixon. “With ZoneDefense for AirWatch, organizations can shift from the ‘one device, one policy’ model inherited from the PC and laptop era in favor of ‘the right policy at the right place’ paradigm, which is much more suited to the mobile world.”
The ability to automatically change device policies based on location makes it easier for organizations to manage areas with different security levels. As mobile devices enter a specific zone, a new security policy can be triggered preventing unauthorized activities such as file transfers, use of the device camera or recording, or accessing certain apps. Once the device exits the zone, the more stringent security policy is replaced with the standard policy and the mobile device activities return to normal.
Beyond the ability to automatically manage device security based on location, ZoneDefense for AirWatch also provides systems and security personnel with a more complete view of the mobile devices operating within the organization. Additionally, ZoneDefense enables administrators with the ability to identify, monitor and report on rogue smartphones and tablets that would otherwise operate without supervision.
“The proliferation of mobile devices across all enterprise organizations presents the challenges of security and control from IT administrators,” Adams said. “It’s hard to control what you can’t see but that’s what organizations are trying to do every day when it comes to mobile devices. ZoneDefense for AirWatch will provide organizations with the security and control needed to gain visibility into device compliance.”
Inpixon’s ZoneDefense for AirWatch is now available from Inpixon and Inpixon authorized resellers. The demonstration will be held at booth 408 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta in Atlanta, GA from September 8 – 11, 2014.
