RibbonAirPatrol took home the gold this past week and played well with the big dogs.

  • We hosted our ribbon cutting ceremony on Feb 20 at the new headquarters in Maple Lawn, Maryland. With over 50 attendees, food, drinks and a live demonstration and discussion of ZoneDefense were enjoyed on a chilly day. Originally scheduled for the week before during a snowstorm we coined “Sochi West,” the strong attendance from government officials, partners, potential customers and the press matched the excited energy of the day. Additional pictures from the event can be seen here.
  • Cleve Adams, AirPatrol CEO boarded a plane and landed in Barcelona to join partner AirWatch at Mobile World Congress. In his panel “Embracing the Digital Future: The Internet of Everything,” Cleve was joined by Apigee, ARM and Financial Services Corporation.
  • Over in San Francisco, Dr. Guy Levy-Yurista, AirPatrol CTO moderated a panel and hosted two luncheons. The panel hosted by CyberTech addressed “Privacy and Security Implications: What new Cybersecurity Regimes and Policies will be Needed for the Resilient Network” and was closely followed by an after-party into the early morning hours. A luncheon on Tuesday and on Wednesday with partner Lilien Systems brought in crowds of hungry and curious people ranging from an AirPatrol founder to future customers. Guy’s cybersecurity discussions and future developments for AirPatrol had participants wanting more after dessert.
  • Little Brother Holdings Ltd and AirPatrol announced a Middle East and UK strategic partnership. Under the agreement, LBH will provide sales and support of AirPatrol product installations throughout the United Kingdom and Persian Gulf regions. The AirPatrol-Little Brother Holdings partnership is effective immediately and the two organizations are already pursuing joint opportunities in the Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia.

As everyone increases their frequent flier miles on their way home, whether part of the AirPatrol team (current or future) or part of the American Olympic team at Sochi, this is just the beginning. We tout “Location is Everything” and this has been proven with the distances traveled to be with the right crowd and in the right environment at just the right time. With global flights of athletes, techies, and executive leaders, I’m sure flight conversations are a little different than usual.

Thanks to everyone who helped the AirPatrol team the past week and a special thanks to Howard County Executive, Ken Ulman and the Howard County Economic Development Association. As 2014 sprints ahead (Spring should be just around the corner by now, right?), it’s great to know we have a gold medal or two in our back pockets.
